CW Celebrates Students of the Semester: Albert and Johana

The College of Westchester (CW) proudly recognizes Albert and Johana as Students of the Semester, celebrating their academic achievements, dedication, and commitment to building successful futures.

At CW, student success goes beyond the classroom. From earning academic honors to pursuing professional certifications and exploring entrepreneurial opportunities, our students demonstrate what it means to work toward their goals with determination and purpose.

Albert: Building a Future in Cybersecurity and Information Technology

AlbertOriginally from the Dominican Republic and now living in the Bronx, Albert has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence. A salutatorian graduate of Schuylerville Preparatory High School, Albert chose CW for its welcoming environment and smaller class sizes.

While pursuing his studies in information technology, Albert has already earned multiple industry certifications from Cisco and CompTIA, strengthening his technical knowledge and preparing for future career opportunities.

Expected to graduate in 2028, Albert hopes to continue expanding his IT expertise and pursue a career as a professional technician.

Johana: Turning a Passion for Beauty into Business Success
Associate in Applied Science, Business Administration

JohanaFor Johana, education is an important step toward achieving her entrepreneurial dreams. A graduate of Ramapo High School and a first-generation college student, Johana chose CW for its opportunities to graduate sooner and its support in helping students explore career paths.

Currently pursuing her associate degree in Business Administration, Johana has already distinguished herself academically, earning Perfect Attendance Awards and recognition on the Dean’s List.

As a licensed cosmetologist with a passion for beauty and entrepreneurship, Johana plans to combine her education with her professional experience to open her own salon and build a successful business in the beauty industry.

Expected to graduate in May 2027, Johana is especially proud to be setting a positive example for her family as a first-generation college student.

Albert and Johana represent the dedication, ambition, and diverse career aspirations of CW students. Whether pursuing a future in technology or entrepreneurship, both are taking meaningful steps toward their professional goals.
