Born in the Bronx and a graduate of Mount Vernon STEAM Academy, Daniel’s CW Warriors journey began with a visit from a College of Westchester representative who spoke at his high school. That introduction sparked an interest that led them to explore CW further—and ultimately choose it as the right place to pursue his goals.
Daniel received the Empowerment Award Scholarship and is currently majoring in Information Technology. On track to graduate in 2026 with a bachelor’s degree, Daniel is focused on continuing to grow and “be the best at whatever he does.”
Ashley Valentin was born in New Rochelle, New York, but grew up in Mount Vernon, where she attended Mount Vernon STEAM Academy. Growing up in Mount Vernon helped shape who she is today by teaching her the importance of community, connection, and resilience, qualities that continue to guide her as she pursues her goals.
Ashley is currently earning her associate’s degree in human services at CW. Alongside her studies, she works as a receptionist at Mercedes-Benz. Through this job, she hopes to gain valuable learning experiences, strengthen her communication skills, and build real-world professional experience that will help her grow both personally and professionally in the long run.

She chose to attend The College of Westchester because her mother is also a proud graduate of the college and often spoke highly of her experience. Ashley admired how CW values each student as an individual and goes above and beyond to support their success. From the moment she started, she felt welcomed, encouraged, and confident that she was in the right place to grow academically and personally.
Ashley’s major, in Human Services, has been a meaningful journey that has prepared her for the future. It has taught her about the many roles within the field, and the impact professionals can make in people’s lives. In addition to her academic achievements, Ashley proudly serves as the President of the CW Social Media Club. Through this role, she enjoys bringing students together and creating a space where everyone can express their unique personalities on the college’s social media platforms. This position has allowed her to merge creativity with leadership and connect with the CW community on a deeper level.
She is expected to graduate in May 2026 with her associate’s degree in human services. Ashley looks forward to walking across the stage and celebrating the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that brought her to that moment.
Her ultimate career goal is to become a medical or travel social worker. Ashley has always been passionate about helping others and connecting them with the resources they need. She hopes to make a lasting difference in people’s lives, whether by guiding them through challenges or inspiring hope for a better future.
Ashley is the middle child of four siblings. Family plays an important role in her life and motivates her to keep striving toward her goals. Outside of school and work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, expressing her creativity, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
