A Warrior’s Journey – Reflections from Commencement 2025

As I addressed the Class of 2025 during our 109th Commencement Ceremony, I stood not only as CW’s President, but also as a proud alumna from the Class of 1984. This milestone was more than a celebration—it was a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of education.

Each graduate arrived at this moment by overcoming personal and academic challenges. Many balanced full-time jobs, caregiving, and coursework. Their dedication defines what it means to be a CW Warrior—resilient, focused, and prepared for the future.

Warriors Never Give Up
One of our evening students once said it best: “Warriors never give up.” That spirit is embedded in everything we do at CW—a career-focused, student-centric small private college with flexible programs. Our graduates are job-ready and lifelong learners, prepared to meet workforce demands and adapt to change.

Commencement also gave us time to reflect on the community behind each student’s journey—families, friends, and our dedicated CW faculty and staff. Everyone’s support helped make this day possible.

Leading with Heart and Purpose
We were honored to welcome Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins as our keynote speaker. His reminder that a college education has multigenerational impact was exactly why CW exists and at the very heart of our mission. He encouraged our graduates to lead with integrity, stay authentic, and drive positive change. His historic leadership and public service remind us what’s possible when we serve others with passion.
