Congratulations to Susanna Stepanyan and Kimberly Lopez, who have been selected as Students of the Semester for the Day College

Susanna and Kimberly have been selected for this distinguished accolade by the Day College Faculty because of their 3.8+ GPA, demonstrated academic excellence, and overall dedication to their studies. Read more about Susanna and Kimberly here:

Susanna Stepanyan was born in Armenia and came to the United States when she was 13 years old, without knowing English. It was challenging at first, but it did not stop Susanna. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers; and she attended a local community college, graduating with a Performing Arts degree with a 3.9+ GPA. . Fun fact about Susanna, she applied to a singing competition and won the Yonkers idol in 2019!

After graduating with her Performing Arts degree and after much reflection, Susanna realized her true passion was in the medical field, so she applied to CW. She is now majoring in Medical Assistant Management, which is a pathway to her future career in nursing. Since being at CW, Susanna has thrived and maintained a 4.0 GPA! Her parents, fiancée and professors have supported and helped her reach her full potential. Susanna is set to graduate in June of 2023.

This is only the beginning of her journey, says Susanna. She is committed to continuing her education and becoming a nurse, and to having a more positive impact on the lives of others. Susanna hopes her journey can inspire others to never give up on their dreams, no matter how challenging the path may be.

Kimberly Lopez was born in Yonkers, were she graduated from Lincoln High School. She decided to study at The College of Westchester for the classroom student ratio, which she considered to be the perfect way to learn. Additionally, she heard wonderful things about CW, and there was the added bonus of it being a short commute from home.

After receiving her Associate’s degree in Medical Assistant Management at CW in 2022, she decided to further her education and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in Healthcare Services Administration. She currently holds a 4.0 GPA and has been on the dean’s/president’s list each semester. She is part of Sigma Beta Delta and will graduate in August of 2023.

Her career goal is to become a manager within a long-term care facility. Her long time educational goal is to obtain a Ph.D. Kimberly is determined to become a knowledgeable healthcare service professional administrator, and advocate. She decided to pursue a career in the healthcare field because she believes that individuals deserve to be understood and obtain quality healthcare.
