Meet the Evening & Online College Students of the Semester

Congratulations to Tara-Kay Miller, from the CW Online Division and Jennifer S. Ramos, from the CW Evening Division, who have been selected as Students of the Semester.

Tara-Kay and Jennifer have been selected for this distinguished accolade by the Evening and Online Faculty because of their 3.8+ GPA, demonstrated academic excellence, and overall dedication to their studies. Read more about Tara-Kay and Jennifer here:

Originally, from Jamaica, Tara-Kay was born in Mandeville, Manchester. She started her secondary education at Malvern Girls College in Worcestershire, England, and completed it at Millennium Art Academy in The Bronx, New York. Many years later, she left New York City for a better opportunity and now resides in Florida. She shares her home with her supportive boyfriend and their timid cat, Viola. Tara returned to The College of Westchester with renewed focus and determination, as completing her college education has always been one of her most important goals. She received her Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and Marketing, graduating with honors in 2021. Tara-Kay is a Service Desk Supervisor for AdventHealth, a large healthcare organization based in Central Florida. She is graduating with a bachelor's degree in business administration management; she is also an honors student who has made the President's and Dean's lists, and is a Sigma Beta Delta honor society member. Tara-Kay will graduate on June 1, 2023, with the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. She hopes to begin a career in business administration or operations management.

Jennifer was born in the Bronx, New York and went to Stevenson High School. However, later in life she received her GED from Grace Outreach. Jennifer has a background in Human Services and is currently working in Homecare. Jennifer became a student at The College of Westchester from a conversation she had with a recruiter, who was so positive and full of hope; she made her want a second chance to further her education. Jennifer feels so blessed to be given this opportunity! Computer Networking Administration is Jennifer’s major. She has been placed on the dean’s list and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Jennifer will be graduating in November with an Associate Degree in Computer Networking Administration.  Jennifer’s career goals are to become a database developer and work in cyber security. Jennifer is still in New York and says her mother and two brothers are incredibly supportive of her decision to go back to school. Jennifer is single with no children and is a Christian and waiting in Christ.
