The College of Westchester Announces Faculty and Employee of the Year

White Plains, NY — The College of Westchester (CW) has announced its 2025 Faculty of the Year and Employee of the Year award recipients at the Annual Employee Appreciation Event.

Professor Nancy Samwell was named Faculty of the Year. Recognized for her exceptional commitment to students and colleagues, she is described as a respected, compassionate educator who balances empathy with high expectations to prepare students for future careers. Professor Samwell has been with CW for nine years and currently serves as Assistant Professor in the School of Health Professions.

Paula Cancro received the Employee of the Year award. Praised for her leadership, professionalism, and dedication to student and faculty success, Cancro is known for her teamwork, positive attitude, and tireless support. She serves as Assistant Dean for Instructional Design and Delivery and is an Associate Professor in the School of Business. Paula has been with the college for 19 years.

These annual awards are determined by peer nominations and votes from previous recipients, highlighting CW’s culture of mutual recognition and support.

The Employee Appreciation Event also honored staff and faculty with Years of Service Awards, celebrating milestones ranging from 5 to 35 years of dedicated service to the College.
