Congratulations to our Students of the Semester in the Adult College; Moctor Diop & Faith McManus!

As Student of the Semester recipients, Moctor and Faith demonstrate academic excellence and effort in their degree program and hold a minimum of a 3.8 GPA.  Moctor and Faith were selected by the faculty as Students of the Semester in the Adult College.  Read about Moctor and Faith.

Moctar Diop is enrolled in the BBA Accounting program, with a cumulative 3.97 GPA. He has earned both President and Dean’s List recognition. Moctar is a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) scholarship recipient and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Beta Delta National Honors Societies. Moctar was born in Dakar, Senegal and went to a specialized Math/Physics high school. He did a full year of ESL at another school since French is his first language. When Moctar started looking for college to continue his education, CW offered him the best customer service out of all the colleges he was considering.

Moctar credits the close support of the dedicated professors and advisors of the college, as he couldn’t had achieved his academic success without them. In his spare time, he enjoys the company of his wife, three daughters and best friends. Moctar is expected to graduate in September 2019.

Faith McManus is enrolled in the Health Information Management program, with a 3.98 cumulative GPA. She has earned both President and Dean’s List recognition and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Faith was born and raised in Yonkers, New York. She attended Gorton High School, where her focus was in the Medical Technologies program, sparking her passion for the medical field.  Faith has received a certificate of completion for Medical Billing and Coding at a previous college along with an award for Academic Excellence and an award for Outstanding Student.

Faith still resides in her hometown of Yonkers and is a single mom of three children. She has a 16 year old, five year old and three year old.  She has 18 years experience in the medical field and is currently pursuing her certification for a Certified Professional Coder. Her future career goal is to work in the Risk Management field. Faith is expected to graduate in April 2020.
