Scholarships for Students Like You

For eligible first-time freshmen. The award can help cover direct tuition charges not already covered by eligible federal and New York State grants or other outside grant funding. Eligibility includes academic and financial requirements, New York residency, full-time status, and maintaining the required GPA.

For eligible high school seniors beginning college after graduation. Awards may provide up to half tuition for associate and bachelor’s degree programs. Selection is based on academic performance and future potential; financial need may also be considered.

Scholarships for eligible students in Business, Health Professions, Human & Social Services, and Information Technology may provide up to $10,000 per year. Awards are based on prior academic performance and future potential; financial need may be considered.

Students who complete eligible CW JumpStart courses before enrolling as a full-time CW student may receive $250 per qualifying course, up to $1,000 in the first academic year. A final course grade of C or higher is required.

Students transferring credits from prior colleges may qualify for tuition scholarships ranging from 20% to 40%, based on prior credits earned and cumulative GPA. The scholarship is applied after eligible federal, state and third-party grants and scholarships.

Eligible new transfer students who provide proof of active Phi Theta Kappa membership may receive $7,500 per year toward completion of a bachelor’s degree at CW. The PTK Scholarship may be combined with other eligible institutional merit- and need-based scholarships, subject to institutional policies and approval.

Eligible freshmen and sophomores may receive up to $5,000 per year based on prior academic achievement. Continuing eligibility requires maintaining the required cumulative GPA.

Awards of up to $8,000 per year may be made based on academic promise and financial need. Students must maintain the required cumulative GPA for subsequent awards.

CW may match an approved outside scholarship up to $2,000 per year, subject to eligibility and award requirements.

Need-based institutional grants are available to eligible new and continuing students, with special consideration for students in critical need of assistance to continue their studies. Grants may range up to $5,000 per year.

Designed to support eligible students who are nearing completion of their studies or who have found it difficult to complete their program, recognizing persistence toward graduation.

The College of Westchester Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, awards scholarships to students who demonstrate academic promise and annually invites CW students to apply for consideration.

Eligible employees of participating CW Partner organizations and qualifying immediate family members may receive a tuition award. Eligibility, award percentages and other requirements depend on the active partner agreement and institutional policies.
