The College of Westchester and Brave Enough to Fail Join Forces

Having a successful career will offer you a lot of benefits and real meaningful opportunities. As we live in a world governed by social status and money, working your way up to the top will definitely improve your quality of life. Therefore, having a college education is instrumental for a successful, professional career. But this journey doesn’t always start in college. Cultivating a new generation of leaders, creators, and achievers is the impetus behind Brave Enough to Fail (BETF), a non-profit organization founded in October 2015 in Connecticut.

Brave Enough to Fail and The College of Westchester are thrilled to announce that they will work together to help cultivate a new generation of professionals. CW will provide up to ten $1,000 scholarships per year which BETF will make available to students at schools that it serves. The scholarships will be renewable as long as awardees remain full-time and in good standing. The first scholarships are available for the current school year and will be awarded in June 2019.

“We are very excited to be partnered with The College of Westchester, a top-notch institution that is dedicated to students and their success. Both organizations actively seek to serve students from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and communities,” said Wayne Winsley, Executive Director and Founder of Brave Enough to Fail.

BETF is an organization that inspires and motivates high school and college students to strive

for success by understanding and implementing options available to them.  Since 2016, the organization has reached over 3,000 high school students and currently has requests for the Brave Enough to Fail program from high schools and school districts across 20 states. The organization encourages students to achieve their dreams by reinforcing several soft skills including, commitment, resilience, self-discipline, communication, and team work.

The College of Westchester has found in BETF a great ally to extend its mission of serving students from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and communities. Both institutions are fully dedicated to preparing more young people to succeed in the modern and competitive workforce. “The College of Westchester is proud to partner with Brave Enough to Fail, as both organizations share the same commitment to student success and work to support academic and professional achievement,” said Matt Curtis Vice President of Enrollment Management at CW.

According to Wayne Winsley, this partnership will be the best platform to connect with more students, inspire them, and prepare them for a successful professional life, “This partnership means BETF will not only be able to reach and inspire more great students in places like The Bronx, Yonkers, New Rochelle, and Mount Vernon, we can now directly connect those motivated students to a solid resource to build the foundation for successful, relevant professional careers.”
