The College Of Westchester Celebrates its 101st Commencement Press Release

The College of Westchester celebrated its 101st Commencement Ceremony at Westchester County Center on Thursday, June 1st.  As part of the celebrations, the event included opening remarks by President Mary Beth Del Balzo as well as Westchester County Executive, Robert Astorino as the Keynote Speaker. “Graduates, this is the first day of the rest of your lives. Everything is just now beginning for you. That’s why this is called a commencement… Now, you sit here much better equipped to take on the world and establish your own legacy,” said Astorino.

With over three decades involved with The College of Westchester, President Del Balzo congratulated the Class of 2017 as the college celebrates its 102nd anniversary, "You have what it takes – don’t let anyone ever discourage you on your path to continued success.  In times of uncertainty, reflect on today’s celebration and all that you’ve achieved.  Remind yourself that not only do you have the education to succeed, but you also have determination, motivation, perseverance and confidence – the attributes that got you here today."

Commencement also included two student speakers:

Alejandra Rojas, who earned her Associate in Applied Science.
Christina Ramirez, who earned her Bachelor in Business Administration.
