Fear is an emotion we’re all familiar with. It actually has a purpose—it alerts the mind and body to danger. However, it can also block us from taking steps that can help us make progress in our personal and professional life. For example, have you ever held back from raising your hand in class or speaking up in a meeting? Do you talk yourself out of applying for internships or jobs because you’re afraid you’ll be rejected? 

We can learn an incredible amount from the successful people we look up to. Talking to a successful person is a great way to gain insight into how to be successful in your own life. One huge mistake to avoid, though, is to ask them if you can pick their brain.  Instead, ask thoughtful, specific questions. Not sure where to start?
