Dr. Joann Mulqueen, Associate Provost at CW recently participated in a panel discussion entitled, “Strategies to Build a Career in Higher Education: Tips and Techniques from Successful Women!” The event was hosted by the regional division of New York State’s ACE Women’s Network. Dr. Mulqueen and the other panelists shared their work experience and provided important insights and advice for creating a fulfilling and productive career in higher education. Some of the tips included being flexible and open to change, being able to work successfully in a team, and showing a willingness to learn new tasks. One of the most important pieces of advice that Dr. Mulqueen gave the audience was “to be visible to the college community,” so that others know what you can do. The event was attended by more than 70 women from Rockland and Westchester colleges.
