Nayeli Soto, College of Westchester Business Administration major
Pursuing a Higher Education degree is a decision and a commitment. Nayeli Soto a Business Administration major, certainly master’s both. She took the decision to invest in herself, and she is committed to complete it. As we continue to celebrate First-Generation College Week, we talked to Nayeli to hear a little more about her story. Here’s what she said:
Who or what inspires you to earn your degree? Why?
My aunt who lives in the Dominican Republic. She’s the only one who went to college and graduated. Seeing her lifestyle is pretty great.
How will earning your college degree change your life and the lives of your family members?
I can support myself and my family and make many proud. I know my life has a meaning so I want to push myself to do better and be better.
One day, you will be a first-generation college graduate. Who do you hope your story will inspire?
Young kids. They can now see that growing up is not so bad. They can be happy even as adults.
What do you wish the College knew about you?
I’m a very determined student that wishes to be acknowledged.
