During this year, we all learned that it’s not optional to be on top of technology. We need it to do essentially everything in our professional lives. Malcolm James is aware of that, and now more than ever he is eager to complete his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology major. During First-Generation Week we asked him a few questions about his career and his reason behind his decision to complete his degree.

Who or what inspires you to earn your degree? Why?
To be the first male in my family to do so and my love for technology, and lastly, to have a better future.

How will earning your college degree change your life and the lives of your family members?
It will help me to be able to provide for myself and make enough money to provide for my family.

One day, you will be a first-generation college graduate. Who do you hope your story will inspire?
People who feel like it’s too late to go back to school and get a degree; I did it at the age of 30!
