Fear is an emotion we’re all familiar with. It actually has a purpose—it alerts the mind and body to danger. However, it can also block us from taking steps that can help us make progress in our personal and professional life. For example, have you ever held back from raising your hand in class or speaking up in a meeting? Do you talk yourself out of applying for internships or jobs because you’re afraid you’ll be rejected?

This Fast Company article explains how these emotional fears can impact our career and how to deal with them.
