CW Celebrates Women's History Month

Mon, 03/13/2017

Women’s History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. It’s celebrated during March in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. CW joined the celebrations and hosted an event to pay tribute to different women who contributed to the arts, sciences, and society around the world. Led by the Sisters United Club, students and Prof. Erica Schacht presented the background of Women’s History Month and highlighted several women in history such as Sandra Day O’Connor, Frida Kahlo, and Coretta Scott King.

The event included some goods for sale and a raffle. All proceeds will go to the organization My Sister’s Place in White Plains. To learn more about Women’s History Month visit: http://womenshistorymonth.gov/
