With all the talk about what not to have on your profile, some people freak out and shut down their social media, worried that it’s more trouble than it’s worth to keep tabs on it. Turns out that not having any social media presence at all can be just as much a red flag to employers as having problematic posts.

The reason? Having a social media presence communicates that you have a professional presence and are engaged in the present-day culture.
