Tell Me About Yourself

Tue, 08/02/2016

It’s the question everyone loves to hate. When an interviewer says, “Tell me about yourself.” Most of us break out in a cold sweat. Nontraditional students entering the job market after a career change and recent grads may feel especially anxious when faced with how to talk about who they are in an interview setting. This video and accompanying article from Monster shares some tips to help you hone your story.

Remember, the interviewer is looking to learn more about you to get a sense of whether you would be a meaningful addition to the company. Take the time to focus and prepare a mental script you can stick to and practice until you feel comfortable. You know who you are and what you have to offer—showcase your strengths and have a plan for how to answer questions that might come up.

CW’s Office of Career Services staff guides you through the entire process of planning and preparing for your job interview.  The college offers private career counseling with a wide range of services.  For more information about CW contact our Admissions Office at 844.711.6962 or 914.331.0853 or request more information here.
