Maryanne DeSalvo

Maryanne has been with The College of Westchester for seven years. Before joining The High School Team in 2008, she served as a CW Admissions Counselor inspiring students and adults to pursue their career goals through education. She has 10 years of corporate experience in fundraising, healthcare, management, sales and customer service.

Maryanne currently is a vocalist with the Wedding Band “Stolen Moments” and public band “House Arrest.” She earned her Associate in Business Management at CW and graduated from Concordia College with a Bachelor’s in Business Management.


Karen Tellekamp

Karen Tellekamp developed excellent presentation, management and customer service skills while working in the nutrition industry before coming to CW. Karen worked as an Admissions Counselor at the college for the 2012-2013 school year in addition to presenting on the High School & Community Relations team. Karen grew up in Rockville Centre, NY and competed as a swimmer on the national level through high school.

She earned a Bachelor’s in Human Development at Boston College where she continued to swim all four years. With a passion for education, she pursued her Master’s in School Counseling at the University of San Diego and enjoyed the sunshine on the west coast for three years.


Nick Sekkas

Nick has presented for CW since 2006 and brings a wealth of knowledge of public speaking and the college admissions process. Nick graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism in 2006. He served as the Director of Broadcast and Media Relations for the Aberdeen IronBirds, a minor league affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and hosted “The Nick Sekkas Show” from 2008 to 2010. Nick has also worked as a sports reporter for News 12 Westchester and The Journal News.

Combining his public speaking background with his media experience and knowledge of CW, Nick inspires students to pursue their education and be successful.


Jasmin McClendon

Jasmin is a new member of the CW Team, but a High School Presenter veteran. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jasmin always excelled academically. Jasmin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Howard University in Washington D.C. earning a Bachelor’s in Advertising. Soon after, Jasmin began a career in advertising, working for Saatchi & Saatchi, went on to work in media and communications at Fox 5 WNYW Local News. After years of working in communications Jasmin discovered her true calling was empowering our youth.

In 2011 Jasmin began presenting dynamic Career and College workshops to High School Students in the New York City area. Jasmin has a natural way with students given her high-energy, engaging presentations and bubbly personality. Jasmin’s true passion is to help students reach their full potential and dreams. Working for CW brings her passion to fruition with each student she impacts!


Colleen Barnes McGourty

Colleen is one of the newest members on our team and hails from Worcester, Massachusetts. Colleen graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor’s in International Studies and was a participant in National Model United Nations.

Colleen’s past career success in event planning and customer service is credited to her solutions approach which she applies with care to CW and High School appointments and events. Another musician, as a member of the Westchester & District Pipe Band, Colleen is a competitive drummer.
