Today, the world is our classroom as demonstrated through a collaborative effort with The College of Westchester BBA students and SUNY Empire State students. Through this initiative, state side students are connecting with business students in Panama. In the current term we are partnering CW's BUSINESS 410-Critical Issues in Business with Empire State College's "Market Research" course in Panama offered at the Quality Leadership University http://www.qlu.ac.pa/index.php?page=home-es. CW's CIO, Kelly Walsh, has a fantastic blog: http://www.emergingedtech.com that I encourage all educators to consider. Recent posts about "The Flipped Classroom" have garnered a lot of attention and Kelly is travelling, by invitation, from Florida to Saudi Arabia to present on this and other topics. We are so proud to have a second student, for the second year in a row, invited into the 2013 i3 Scholars Institute. Emely Rodriguez, CW Business major and Library learning Center work study student has been invited into the 2013 i3 Scholars Institute.

The iSchool Inclusion Institute (i3) is an undergraduate research and leadership development program that prepares students from underrepresented populations for graduate study and careers in the information sciences. The 5th Annual College of Westchester Charitable Foundation (CWCF) event was a huge success. We beat our goal and raised over $60,000, with 98% of funds going directly to scholarships for students! The success is owed to the many generous Board Members, Faculty, Staff and colleagues of CW. We are truly thankful for all the ongoing support in helping the Foundation meet its mission.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone gifted you your entire college tuition? Absolutely! But of course, that's not the reality for most. However, it is important to remember that getting a college education is a gift we give to ourselves, even if we have to finance it our self. There is much debate over the rising student loan debt, but the truth is while the average student loan debt of $26,000 is high, it meets a common borrowing guideline for manageable repayment.
