I truly do love New York. We live and work in a state that I believe is forward thinking, supports the rights of all, and encourages higher education. Our NY State education leaders are caring individuals who support freedom of choice and I am proud and grateful that The College of Westchester is one of those stellar choices that students can make to further their education and their professional dreams.

Career Services hosted an Accounting Networking Career Café where students had the opportunity to network with employers to discuss careers, including internships and full-time positions, as well as mentoring opportunities. Employers attending the event were Peter O’Connor from Robert Half Accountemps, Fernando Rodriguez, CPA, Jinga Cuervas and Amanda Bordino from Westhab, and Gary Javier from Mass Mutual Financial.

CW’s Dr. Chris Nwosisi participated at the 2016 5th International Conference on Software and Information Engineering (ICSIE 2016) from May 11-13 in Tokyo, Japan. The team of presenters included 12 experts from different countries around the world including Norway, India, USA, Singapore, China, and Lebanon.
President and CEO Mary Beth Del Balzo named BBA student, Maryanne Serra (right in photo) and Associate student, Julio De La Cruz (left in photo), as Students of the Semester for the winter term.
Julio De La Cruz is a Computer Networking Associate degree student with a 3.89 cumulative GPA, having achieved Dean’s List recognition. Once he obtains his degree he has the ultimate career goal of continuing working with computers as this is his passion. Being the student of the semester was not an easy task and Julio is grateful for the support from his family and his friends, especially Kenny and Mike.
I was delighted to participate in our 100th Commencement ceremony of The College of Westchester on Thursday, May 26, 2016. This also marks the first year of our second hundred years as an institution. I congratulated the members of the Class of 2016 and lauded the effort and commitment that led to their success.
The Spring Semester Student Recognition/Club Day 2016 took place in the Student Center to recognize the best students of last winter. With Esperanza Cruz, Student Affairs Administrative Coordinator, as M.C., students were honored for their achievements last term. President and CEO Mary Beth Del Balzo named BBA student, Maryanne Serra and Associate student, Julio De La Cruz, as Students of the Semester for the winter term.
The College Of Westchester is the recipient of the Family Owned Business Award from the Business Council of Westchester. President Mary Beth Del Balzo accepted the award at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle.
