The weather plays a major role in walking. Don't you agree?  Wind, rain, snow, and sun can all affect your walking experience. But you have to be faithful to exercise and not to let that derail your commitment to a regular walking schedule. Make sure that you have what you need to keep you "moving/walking" all year long.

Ace that Video Interview

Though in-person interviews are still considered the norm, more colleges and employers are using video interviews as a way to meet candidates face-to-face. Love it or hate it, the video interview is becoming an important part of school and job searches. Just as there are ways to prepare for an in-person interview, there are specific do’s and don’ts and ways to make sure you ace the video chat.

Loaner Mobile Hotspots Help Students Get Online

Online high school and college courses allow more flexible learning. However, for some students, not having Internet access at home puts them at a disadvantage. To help students to get online, Indian Trail High School and Academy in Kenosha, WI gave out mobile hotspot for students to take from and use with school laptops to access online materials. This is one of the ways that schools have begun to address barriers to education advancement. So far, the program has been successful.

Portfolio Review Day 2016

Getting your work reviewed and making sure your portfolio will shine and speak for itself during a job interview, is not an easy task. That’s why Career Services put together The Portfolio Review Day to prepare Digital Media students for a real job interview. Students had to present their portfolios in front of the recruiters and receive feedback. The companies reviewing students’ portfolios included Incision Network, Harquin Creative Group, and Sande Chen.

Spring Career & Internship Fair

CW students looking for a job and nearly 30 employers connected at our Spring Career Fair. Students filled the Student Center, scanning over the booths where companies were recruiting for different positions and reviewing the skills students have to offer. CW student Michelle came prepared to talk to a few companies in particular, “I’m here to introduce myself to Arch of Westchester and Robert Half. I would love to get the opportunity to have an internship at any of those companies.”

Music as a Reflection of Culture

Tomas Bell, president of Tomasian Entertainment, LLC, visited the American Culture & the Media evening class at CW to talk about “Music as a Reflection of Culture.” The conversation addressed several aspects that comprise and define current American Music such as ethnicity, background cultures, and religion, among others.
